We have important dates coming up:

MEETINGS & EVENTS

Thursday, April 24, 2025

On Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 5:30pm, there will be a District One Community Meeting regarding re-zoning proposals. The meeting will be held at the Word of Life Christian Center International located at 4100 Clarksville Pike, Nashville, TN 37218. Re-zoning requests are for the following properties:

3241 Kings Lane;
the vacant land directly across the street from 3274 Kings Lane (this is not the same property as #1 above);
1703 River Drive, and
an apartment complex near the intersection of Clarksville Pike and Ashland City (this is not the same developer/property present at the last meeting)

Friday, May 2, 2025, Real ID Event by registration only

On Friday, May 2, 2025, District One will host its second Real ID event in the hope of serving some of the attendees who were unable to secure their Real IDs at the first event. If you are receiving this email, you provided your email address at the March Real ID event or you are a regular District 1 email recipient.

If you would like to receive your Real ID on May 2, 2025, please send an email to joykimbroughdistrict1@gmail.com. In the body of the email please provide your name and request to be added to the Real ID list. You will receive, within a few days, a confirmation email with the location and your suggested arrival time.

On April 26, 2025 from 9am til noon there will be a District One Community Clean-Up & Beautification Project at the Scottsboro Community Club located at 5102 Old Hydes Ferry Pike, Nashville, TN 37218. For more information please contact District One Beautification Commissioner Dominic Leonardo at dleonardolaw@hotmail.com.

YOUTH SUMMER EMPLOYMENT (1000 internships and work experiences for youth ages 14-19)

The Metropolitan Action Commission’s POWER Youth Summer Employment portal is now open for Davidson County youth to apply for summer jobs and work projects. Last summer $2.2 million in wages were paid to area youth. Youth must have a Davidson County address to be eligible for the POWER Youth Summer Employment program.

To access the portal, youth applicants should go to: https://www.nashville.gov/departments/metro-action/power-youth

All positions, except for the year-round positions, will begin June 2 and end July 18, 2025. The last day to apply is April 25, 2025.

If you are having problems with trash pick-up, need transit information or services, observe property violations, noise violations, or in need of any metro service, other than emergency services, etc., please visit Hub Nashville at https://hub.nashville.gov/s/?language=en_US and submit a request for service. In the alternative, you may dial 311.
